Best Chromebooks for Watching Movies

Best Chromebooks for Watching Movies

Despite their low price compared to regular laptops, Chromebooks are great for streaming movies from Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, and similar platforms. Why pay extra for a standard laptop when a good Chromebook can handle streaming movies just as well?

Chromebooks require a particular collection of features for media consumption. To begin, you’ll need a high-quality display. The minimum resolution should be Full HD 1920 x 1080 pixels. This makes it possible for you to watch high-definition movies. It’s also necessary to have a lot of storage space. The best Chromebook should have at least 64GB of storage. You can use this to download several large movie files to your laptop. Another critical feature for Chromebooks that will be used to watch Netflix is battery life. You don’t want to be plugged in all the time. As a result, a system with long battery life is needed. In addition to Samsung, brands including Asus, Lenovo, HP, Dell, and Acer are represented in this list.

Detailed Review of Best Chromebooks for Watching Movies

Google Pixelbook Go i5 Best Quality Chromebook

Google Pixelbook Go i5

While the GooglePixel Book Go has a bright display and a long battery life, the speakers aren’t up to par. The Google Pixel book Go is a less expensive and more durable version of Google’s original Pixel book. The Chromebook’s incredible battery life and amazing keyboard are just two of its selling points, and it has very few drawbacks for both casual users and die-hard Chrome OS fans.

Design.

The Google Pixel Book Go, one of the best budget chrome books, is built to be thin and compact, with a thickness of just 0.5 inches and a weight of only 2.3 pounds. The frame of this laptop is made of magnesium alloy with a matte finish. It has a rippled base which makes it much easier to grip. The Pixel book Go is smaller and thinner than most of our best 13-inch laptops, weighing 2.3 pounds and measuring 12.2 x 8.1 x 0.5 inches. It will fit in all of our best laptop bags.

Display.

The Pixel book Go’s glossy touch-screen display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 is remarkably bright and vibrant for a Chromebook. Nonetheless, we’d be much more comfortable editing images on this laptop’s computer than on the screens of most other good Chromebooks. Although we haven’t seen the 4K Molecular Display option in person, we believe it is unnecessary for a Chromebook.

Battery & Internals.

Using our local video replay test, we were able to drain the Chromebook in 11 hours and 14 minutes. Even better, the Google Pixel book Go has exceptionally long battery life making it one of the best Chromebooks for watching movies. The Chromebook spent 11 hours and 29 minutes surfing the web over Wi-Fi at 150 nits of brightness, far exceeding the 9:31 average for Chromebooks.

The Pixel Book has a 64GB SSD and an 8th Gen Core m3 Y-Series CPU. We discovered that with 8GB of RAM, this Chromebook can multi-task between a large number of Google Chrome browser tabs – over a dozen – without having to reload them due to memory constraints.

Connectivity & Speakers.

The Pixel book Go has two USB-C 3.1 ports for charging and display performance, as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack for listening to music.

The top-firing speakers on the Pixel book Go are silent, but they sound obnoxious at maximum volume. These speakers are a little small and, as a result, a little tinny in the high end, but they outperform the overwhelming majority of laptops of this size, which usually have bottom-firing speakers.

ASUS Chromebook Flip C436 Best HD Chromebook

ASUS Chromebook Flip C43

Asus’ Chromebook Flip C436 is a great buy despite its high price, thanks to its sleek, compact nature and fast performance. It’s a versatile convertible Chromebook with a great screen, with the high price being the only drawback.

Design.

With a white finish on the frame, chrome impact hinges, and a finely perforated grille at the back of the unit for heat venting, it looks amazing. Its sturdy, “precision-crafted” magnesium alloy chassis is similar to that of more costly conventional laptop models. The Flip C436f, best display Chromebook, is one of the slimmest 14-inch laptops, measuring 12.6 x 8.1 x 0.5 inches and weighing 2.5 pounds. The smooth hinge, which twists 360 degrees, has no play, and the chassis has no give.

Display.

The 14-inch LED monitor performs admirably. It has a 16:9 aspect ratio and Full HD resolution. The bezels on the C436 have been reduced to 6.5mm across the top and 4.9mm on the sides, giving it an 85 percent screen-to-body ratio making it the best Chromebook with HD screen.

Our colorimeter validated my findings, indicating that the Chromebook Flip C436’s display occupies 117 percent of the sRGB color gamut, making it more vibrant.

When displaying pure white, colors seemed to be mostly true, with just a small hint of warmth. For a screen of this size, the Full HD resolution is adequate. I believe that if the display were any bigger, pixels would begin to stand out.

Battery & Internals.

The Chromebook Flip C436, best HD Chromebook, set a new record for battery life on our battery test, with a runtime of 9 hours and 25 minutes (continuous web surfing over Wi-Fi at 150 nits of brightness).

Since Chrome OS is a lightweight operating system, the Chromebook Flip C436 has an Intel Core i5-10210U processor and 16GB of RAM and a 512GB NVMe SSD. During real-world research, the laptop performed flawlessly, even with 22 Chrome tabs open, four of which were playing 1080p YouTube videos.

Connectivity & Speakers.

Asus manages to squeeze in two USB-C slots, one on either side, for charging and connecting the computer to external displays and peripherals. A 3.5mm jack on the left edge and a MicroSD slot on the right edge are the only ports available.

Although the speakers aren’t the highest or loudest, Asus did a good job. There are two more speakers buried in the hinge, in addition to the two side-mounted speakers on this best Chromebook flip. If you’re listening to music or watching a movie, all four of them working together produce a strong sound. The laptop’s dual speakers, which are positioned on the sides, seemed to struggle with the singer’s high falsetto and some electronic treble tones.

Lenovo yoga C630 Best Computer for Streaming Movies

Lenovo Yoga C630

Lenovo’s Yoga C630 is a thin and light in weight 2-in-1 Chromebook with a bright screen that will attract frequent travelers because of its power-saving Snapdragon 850 CPU and built-in LTE. However, don’t expect it to replace your main PC. The Lenovo Yoga Chromebook C630 offers a nice, flexible 4K display on an all-around solid laptop for hundreds less than its Windows near-equivalent.

Design.

The stylish laptop follows the same simple-yet-elegant design language as other Lenovo consumer laptops. The Yoga C630’s versatile hinges rotate 360 degrees, allowing it to be converted from a laptop to a tablet. The Yoga C630 can also be set up in tent mode for viewing content or folded flat for giving presentations to others. The 13-inch Yoga C630, one of the best chrome books for watching movies, is noticeably bigger and heavier, weighing 2.7 pounds and measuring 12.1 x 8.5 x 0.5 inches.

Display.

With an extra-bright backlight and vibrant colors, the screen is stunning. It has a 13.3-inch full HD (1,920-by-1,080-pixel) multi-touch display. We didn’t note the extra pixels after several days of typing, web surfing, and video watching on the C630. The Chromebook C630 is the first to feature a 4K display making it one of the best HD Chromebooks. The screen is very big. It responds to your touch. It’s also lights enough to make reading and viewing videos pleasurable experiences.

Battery & Internals.

The Yoga C630, one of the best chrome books for watching movies, lasted a whopping 23 hours and 46 minutes in our battery life benchmark test, which includes playing a looped 1080p video with the screen set to 50% brightness. We were able to go through entire workdays without having to charge the Yoga C630 in our day-to-day research.

A Intel Core i5-8250U processor, 8GB of RAM, and a 128GB eMMC are included in the base model, But you can also add additional 128GB SSD.

Connectivity & Speakers.

On either left, there’s a single USB Type-C slot, and on the right, there’s a headphone jack. The Yoga C630’s battery can be charged through the left-hand USB-C connector.

The audio quality and loudness are just the right amount one needs. However, the sound wraps up when the screen is flipped.

Lenovo ThinkPad C13 Yoga Chromebook Best Chromebook Fastest Processor

Lenovo Thinkpad C13 Yoga Chromebook

When it comes to Chromebooks on the higher end of the price scale, we mostly compare feature sets and build quality to see how they compare to less expensive alternatives. The Lenovo C13 Yoga costs more than consumer Chromebooks, but it’s every bit a ThinkPad and a great 2-in-1 for businesses using Google Workspace.

Design.

The Lenovo is the heaviest of our Chromebooks among the best chrome books for watching movies, measuring 12.1 x 8.4 x 0.6 inches and weighing 3.2 pounds. The 1080p display is surrounded by medium-thin bezels, and two hinges allow it to be flipped and folded into a tablet, easel, and tent modes.

Display.

The 13-inch, 1080p touch display on the ThinkPad C13 Yoga Chromebook is crisp and vibrant, but not very bright. The 360-degree hinges made watching videos a pleasurable experience, particularly in tent mode. After you’ve gotten past the hinge, you’ll be greeted by a pleasant 13.3-inch 16:9 1080p panel. The colors are well-balanced, the viewing angles are excellent, and the brightness of 300 nits is suitable for most environments. While fine details are sharp, the native 1080p resolution reduces the size of screen elements. The default setting is 1,536 by 864 pixels making it a good Chromebook for regular use also for business usage.

Battery & Internals.

The battery is the weakest link in the Yoga C13. In our regular battery drain test, I lasted nine hours and five minutes (looping a local 1080p video). The extra energy needed to run the C13 Yoga Chromebook’s more powerful hardware is visible.

It has 8GB of RAM, a 128GB SSD, AMD Radeon Graphics integrated, and a bright 13-inch 1080p IPS display. The AMD 3000C series processor, AMD Ryzen 5 Pro 3500C is responsible for making the machine powerful and an excellent laptop for streaming apps for Chromebook.

Connectivity & Speakers.

The ThinkPad C13 Yoga Chromebook comes with a lot of ports so you can add all of your favorite accessories. On the right, there are two USB Type-C ports and an HDMI 2.0 port. A microSD card reader, a 3.5mm audio port, two USB Type-A ports, and another USB Type-C port can all be found on the left side.

These speakers are a “use only when appropriate” hardware inclusion, thin, tinny, and not noisy, and that stinks. In laptops, we don’t expect high fidelity, but when we get good build quality and high-end components, we still expect a little more from the speakers. Thus, we’re not satisfied with the speaker’s quality in this great Chromebook for watching movies.

Samsung Chromebook Pro 2-in-1 Best Samsung Chromebook

Samsung Chromebook Pro 2-in-1

The Samsung Chromebook Pro is too much like an Android phone. Regardless, it’s a solid hybrid that takes Chrome OS and Android one step closer to a perfect union. It has a sensitive 12-inch QHD touch panel, a 2-in-1 style, a trendy stylus, and enough processing power to rival a laptop. This 2-in-1 convertible is part of a new wave of Chromebooks that can run Android apps in addition to the stock browser-based Chrome OS, giving you access to the Google Play store’s vast selection of Android apps.

Design.

These Chromebooks are among the thinnest and lightest on the market, weighing 2.4 pounds and measuring 11.1 x 8.7 x 0.6 inches. It took me a while to get used to the form of the aluminum chassis, which isn’t as large as most notebooks. Except for a monochromatic Chrome logo and Samsung branding, the lid is very clean, with rounded edges and no adornments.

Display.

It has a 12.3-inch touch screen with a resolution of 2,400 by 1,600 pixels. The screen appears to be transparent enough, and while you won’t get razor-sharp clarity on pictures and movies, it’s still a higher resolution than most 11- or 13-inch good Chromebooks 1,366-by-768 resolution. On the negative side, HD video content results in larger black bars across the top and bottom of the frame.

Battery & Internals.

In our tests, the Chromebook just lasted 8 hours and 39 minutes, which isn’t particularly impressive. While it outperforms most laptops, it falls short of what we call “all-day existence.”

It’s a twist that transforms the whole essence of the best Chromebooks for a vast swath of people, granting the platform access to a universe of applications, from games to office resources to social media apps. The Chromebook Pro has a 900MHz Intel Core m3-6Y30 processor and 4GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage, which should suffice for most tasks. This combination helps you to run several browser tabs at the same time when streaming HD videos without experiencing any lags. Since it supports Android applications, you can do all of this while still running four or five Android apps in the background.

Connectivity & Speakers.

The Pro has forward-looking ports, like two USB-C ports, one on each side, for networking. Along with a power button and volume switch, it has a headset jack, a microSD card reader, and a spring-loaded stylus holder.

We discovered that the speakers were more than capable of filling a small room with music. Not that you’d want them running at that decibel level, where they’d crack and sputter audibly. Instead, at half-mast, the volume was just right for showing off a YouTube video to a small group of people without sounding like the speakers were jammed into a tin can making it a good Chromebook.

ASUS Chromebook Flip C434 Best ASUS Chromebook

ASUS Chromebook Flip C434

The Flip Chromebook C434 is a premium looking laptop with bright 1080p display offering you a long battery life. This Chromebook has backlit keys, slim bezels, and excellent split-screening, making it ideal for users who want to get things done in style.

Design.

The polished, chamfered edges of the new Flip’s all-aluminum body create a strong first impression. ASUS featured a 14-inch touchscreen and  is 3.2 pounds in weight. It’s an odd design option, since the Flip, like its predecessors, has a 360-degree hinge that allows it to be used as a tablet, tent, or stand. However, the utility of a tablet weighing more than three pounds seems dubious at this best Chromebook for watching movies.

Display.

With such thin bezels, my attention was drawn to the Flip C434’s 14-inch, 1080p touch screen, which is bright and vibrant but not revolutionary. According to our colorimeter, the 14-inch monitor covers 93 percent of the sRGB color gamut. The brightness of the Flip C434’s monitor is also in the center of the pack. The Flip 434’s screen is brighter than the average good Chromebook, with a peak brightness of 286 nits.

Battery & Internals

The Flip C434 lasts 9 hours and 58 minutes on our battery test.

With an Intel Core m3-8100Y CPU and 4GB of RAM, the best Chromebook, Flip C434 has enough power for us to comfortably search the web while performing basic tasks. The entry-level model includes an Intel Core m3-8100Y processor, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of eMMC storage. while three other HD videos streamed in the background, I quickly loaded 18 Google Chrome tabs and watched a 1080p stream. While there was some slight lag when flipping between tabs, the Chromebook Flip C434 performed admirably overall.

Connectivity & Speakers.

A USB 3.1 Type-A port, a USB-C port, and a headphone jack are located on the left, while a second USB-C port and a microSD card placed on right side. Both USB-C ports on the Flip C434 allow charging, so you can plug-in from either side.

The built-in, downward-firing stereo speakers aren’t the greatest you’ll ever hear, but they’ll suffice for movies and television.

The HP Chromebook x360 14c Best overall Chromebook

Hp Chromebook x360

The HP Chromebook x360 14c is a strong product from HP. This edition provides a fantastic overall Chromebook experience with its best features.

Design.

The Chromebook’s lid features a futuristic, minimalistic HP emblem that gleams with reflective shine. In the x360 14c, HP has produced a well-designed best Chromebook. A discreet dark-gray Chromebook logo can be found on the top-left of the lid. There are no creaks or wobbles in the chassis, and the powdered aluminum feels fantastic on the side. The lid and keyboard deck of the HP Chromebook x360 14c are made of aluminum, while the underside is made of plastic. At 0.7 by 12.8 by 8.6 inches, it’s small enough to fit into a briefcase, but at 3.64 pounds, it’s too heavy to carry in your hands instead of on your lap in tablet mode.

Display.

The Chromebook x360 14c has a 14-inch screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It lacks the brightest colors and the sharpest resolution. When you tap the display in laptop mode, the hinges that allow the full HD touch screen to flip and fold through the familiar convertible modes hold securely, with a little wobble. It features a full HD IPS monitor with greatly reduced bezels. The x360, the best Chromebook for Netflix, has a 16:9 aspect ratio and a 1080p screen, thanks to the device’s ultra-thin borders.

Battery & Internals.

Because of the quick internals, the battery life is excellent. We were comfortably able to exceed the 10-hour mark regularly, even with the screen cranked up.

An Intel Core i3-10110U processor and 8GB of RAM power the HP Chromebook x360 14c making it one of the best chrome books for watching movies. It has a 14-inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, an Intel Core i3-10110U processor, 8GB of RAM, and 64GB of eMMC flash storage. We didn’t see any lag on the multitasking-capable HP convertible after loading up 25 Google Chrome tabs. HP’s Chromebook x360 provided smooth multitasking and a strong gaming experience thanks to its 8GB RAM.

Connectivity & Speakers.

The ports are ordinary, with a USB Type C port on each side for charging, control, display, and data transfer. The I/O on this Chromebook is completed by a funky jaw-drop USB Type-A port, a headphone/mic jack, and a microSD card slot.

When you tap away, two Bang & Olufsen speakers surround the island-style keyboard, which has a white backlight by default. The speakers are outstanding, particularly for a Chromebook. The x360’s dual speakers are loud and clear. They’re set up as two grilles on the side of the keyboard and provide a strong stereo effect.

Acer Chromebook 315 Best acer Chromebook

SteelSeries Arctis 5

The Acer Chromebook 315, powered by AMD, is a budget-friendly 15.6-inch touch-screen model with no major flaws, but its plastic bulk and mediocre display betray its low price. The incorporation of Google’s Play Store allows for the use of a wide range of Android applications.

Design.

This budget Chromebook is hinged and can be opened all the way around. This gadget isn’t the lightest, weighing 1.9kg, but it’s light enough to bring around. The slim aluminum casing has a smooth and solid feel to it. If you force the chassis down, you’ll find some flex. Despite the touchscreen, the Chromebook’s hinge can only be folded back to an angle of 180 degrees, preventing it from being used as a tablet replacement.

Display.

The Acer Chromebook 315 features a large 15.6-inch Full HD LCD display on this best budget Chromebook. With a 1102:1 contrast ratio, the contrast is adequate. The monitor flickers at a rate of 250 Hz. That’s a lot of screen real estate for a Chromebook, and it’s ideal for watching TV and movies. On Zoom calls, you’ll be able to see people in greater detail, which may be a bug or a feature. The screen has an anti-glare coating that allows you to work with the sunlight behind you while still performing admirably as a touchscreen.

Battery & Internals.

The 3-cell Lithium-Ion battery claims a battery life of “up to” 12.5 hours, and we found it to be similar to that in certain resource-intensive tasks. We’d recommend the 315 to someone who spends a lot of time away from a power outlet and looking for cheap chrome books because of its impressive battery life.

A dual-core, 1.6GHz AMD A4-9120C processor with 4GB RAM sits a top the foundation. For a Windows laptop, it’s a little sluggish, but it’ll suffice for ChromeOS. We found that the Acer Chromebook 315 worked smoothly and efficiently for all basic activities such as video streaming, web browsing, and word processing, with no issues to note.

Connectivity & Speakers.

There are four USB ports in total: two USB-C ports and two USB-A ports. A headphone jack, a microSD card slot, and a security cable slot are also included.

The stereo speakers on the Acer will fill a large space. Increasing the volume does not cause sounds to become tinny or distorted. Overlapping tracks are audible, with heavy highs and vocals but little bass.

Lenovo Chromebook Duet Best Chromebook for Watching Movies

Lenovo Chromebook Duet

For families searching for a shared laptop around the home, the Lenovo Chromebook Duet is a must-consider. Lenovo’s Chromebook Duet, a detachable well-known 2-in-1 tablets in terms of pricing.

Design.

The dimensions of the device are 0.29 x 9.4 x 6.3 inches. It has a two tone back, 8 MP rear facing camera and a glossy front panel. Strong magnets hold the fabric-covered back plate in place, and the keyboard is magnetic as well, attaching to the tablet via pogo pin connectors. The best Chromebook tablet is just under a pound and measures 0.3 inches thick.

Display.

The monitor has a bright 400 nits of brightness, strong contrast, and color saturation that is relatively rich and well-saturated. It has just the right amount of sharpness and readability without being too pixelated. The Duet has a 1,920×1,200-pixel resolution display with a 16:10 aspect ratio, giving you a little more workspace height.

Battery & Internals.

The Chromebook Duet has a long battery life, allowing it to be passed around the family all day. The Duet took 12 hours and 47 minutes to complete our battery test.

The Duet, laptop for watching movies, is powered by an eight-core, 2.0GHz MediaTek Helio P60T processor. It will stutter and stumble if you try to open multiple tabs or play multiple videos at the same time. A MediaTek octa-core Helio P60T processor, 4GB of RAM, and 64 or 128GB of eMMC flash storage are all included. There isn’t any space for expansion.

Connectivity & Speakers.

If you’re working from home or at the workplace, you can use the USB-C port to connect an external monitor, keyboard, and mouse to your computer. The Duet, one of the best Chromebooks for watching movies, only has one USB-C port, which is still occupied while it is charging. Though Lenovo includes a headphone dongle, it would be great to have at least an audio jack.

The dual speakers produced audio that was remarkably well-balanced and clear even at higher volumes. If you turn the volume up, which adds some distortion, the sound from the Lenovo pair is too gentle. However, with a little tweaking, you can get acceptable audio, although with low bass and often muddled overlapping songs.

Samsung Chromebook 4 Best Cheap Chromebook

Samsung Chromebook 4

The Samsung Chromebook 4 is a decent budget laptop with quick output and long battery life, but the screen isn’t particularly vibrant. The 11.6-inch Samsung Chromebook 4 is a serviceable, minimal laptop that’s easy to transport.

Design.

The laptop is silver-gray and measures 0.66 by 11.3 by 8 inches Platinum Titan. This budget Chromebook is a little but it’s easy to stow away in a purse, backpack, or briefcase. The plastic construction of the Chromebook 4 feels sturdy, with no flex when you grip the screen corners or click the keyboard deck.

The 11.6-inch anti-reflective panel is surrounded by thick bezels, with a webcam located in the top border. The keyboard takes up the entire width of the device. The screen tilts almost back, but if you drive it too far, the small viewing angles transform it into a color-shifted photo negative. There are no extras such as a backlit keyboard or a fingerprint reader.

Display.

Although the Samsung Chromebook 4 has a decent battery life and a low price, the laptop’s 11.6-inch display isn’t bright or vibrant enough making it one of the best cheap Chromebooks for watching movies. Also, since this laptop has a non-touchscreen, you won’t be able to interact with Android apps from the Google Play store. With our colorimeter, we found that the Chromebook 4 only covered 64 percent of the sRGB gamut. Our light meter gave the Chromebook 4 a low brightness rating of 210 nits, which is lower than the 216-nit Chromebook average.

Battery & Internals.

The Samsung Chromebook 4 had a battery life of nearly all day, with a score of 10 hours and 36 minutes in a battery test with web browsing at 150 nits. We play a 720p video file with the screen brightness set to 50%, the audio volume set to 100%, and Wi-Fi turned off before the device shuts down.

The Samsung Chromebook 4’s Intel Celeron 3000N processor and 4GB of RAM provide adequate multitasking capacity, particularly for the price. The Samsung Chromebook 4 has eMMC storage options of up to 32 GB or 64 GB.

Connectivity & Speakers.

The device consists of USB Type A port, USB Type C port, a security lock, an audio jack, and a MicroSD card slot. Since the supplied AC adapter plugs into the USB-C port, you can’t connect an external monitor via DisplayPort adapter and the power plug at the same time. Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi 5 are included.

Even at full volume, the sound from the bottom-mounted speakers is muffled with just a hint of bass and scarcely audible overlapping songs. In the Camera app, the 720p webcam captures black, barely tinted (instead of color) images, and dark blurs in Google Duo.

Buying Guide.

If you’re buying your first Chromebook for watching movies, deciding what to get can be difficult. The options and prices for your Chromebook will differ dramatically depending on what you want to do with it. Chromebooks are more akin to Microsoft-powered Windows laptops than Apple’s approach, where there are only a few MacBook models and some customization options: Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Samsung, and others are among the companies that produce them.

While it will rely on how many window tabs you plan to keep open at the same time, even the most basic devices are capable of web surfing and web apps. They can also run Android apps, but don’t expect them to do so at the same time.

You’ll note significant differences when you move up to price point, and not just in terms of performance. Metal chassis components, improved build quality, higher resolution screens, and more are all on the way to make the best Chromebook for watching movies. These are well-suited to running 12 to 20 Chrome browser tabs at once, as well as more demanding Android applications or games.

A good Chromebook costs $600 are high-end Chromebooks with the best performance available, capable of handling almost any challenge you throw at them.

RAM and storage.

A minimum of 4 GB of RAM is required. You might come across a rare sale price for an 8 GB Chromebook for about or just over $300 now and then. If you have an option between more memory and another function, go with the extra RAM.

Make sure you have 64 GB of local storage if at all necessary. Many cheap Chromebooks come with 32 GB of storage, so keep that in mind. Most come with a memory card slot for additional storage, which can be useful, but requiring at least 64 GB would be beneficial. If at all possible, opt for a Chromebook with faster NVMe storage rather than the slower eMMC kind.

Screen display and brightness.

In the 11.6- or 14-inch screen sizes, expect a mediocre display. By mediocre, we say that the resolution would most likely be 1366 x 768 pixels, rather than full HD, which is 1920 x 1080 pixels. In the entry-level section, check to see if the screen is touch-capable, as some aren’t. There are a few 4K good Chromebooks available, but they’re usually over $600 unless they’re on sale.

Other features.

Good Chromebooks should have excellent speaker sound and overall build quality. They’re more likely to be smaller and lighter, so plan to break out the wallet if that’s your thing. For easier logins, some models have a fingerprint sensor.
