Razer Blackwidow vs Blackwidow X

since posting my review of the black widow X a lot of viewers have been asking which is better the Black Widow or the Black Widow X let’s take a look at what makes these two keyboards different a lot of people consider the Black Widow X to be a version of The Black Widow that is stripped of its bells and whistles.

While partly true the Black Widow X also has some strengths of its own the Black Widow X features a military-grade metal backplate that resists fingerprints and smudges giving a nice clean look the Black Widow on the other hand has a plastic top cover mounted on top of the metal backplate because of this however the Black Widow is able to have a white backplate to make the colors between the keys pop more vibrantly the Black Widow X could not have this feature because of the metal backplate the Black Widow also features a mic and headphone jack as well as USB pass-through the Black Widow ex unfortunately does not have either one but does come with a nice cable management system integrated into the back of the board the Black Widow also comes with five macro keys on the left-hand side of the board the Black Widow ex does not have these macro keys the fonts are also different the Black Widow has that blocky alien-like font while the Black Widow ex has a clean minimalistic font razor now states that their green switches will last up to 80 million keystrokes I believe this is because they now produce their switch completely in-house to back up this claim the kale logo is absent when looking at the switch while razor stated they will silently roll out this switch onto all their boards that use the switch the only way to be sure this early in the game you’re getting one is to buy the Black Widow ex or call razor and order it directly to make sure you’re getting the new switch the Black Widow ex also features a much nicer set of lights for the num lock caps lock indicator I never understood why the Black Widows was so dimly lit and looked cheap both boards use the Razer synapse 2.0 software and can be configured exactly the same when it comes to lighting in macros as you can see there are some differences that make each board stand out the Black Widow has more bells and whistles but is also moreĀ  recently though I have seen the original black widow retail for as low as the black widow X seems to improve on a few of the faults we have seen in the o riginal at a slightly cheaper one I would like to have seen the black widow X come in a bit cheaper and it’s hard to recommend the black widow X over the Black Widow when you get so much more features for an extra 10 bucks however the Black Widow X is an absolutely incredible keyboard if you don’t care about the macro keys or the USB pass-through you may have found your board it all comes down to what features you value most in your keyboard do you really want USB pass-through do super bright lights distract you or is not having dedicated macro keys a deal-breaker well there you have it guys I told you all the differences between the two keyboards it’s hard to make a wrong decision here I hope I was able to help you make an educated decision as to which keyboard is right for you to see more content like this for me in the future please click that subscribe button let me know in the comments below which keyboard you think is the better pick give me a like if this video helped you give me a dislike if it didn’t and as always guys thank you for joining me on the brain bean gaming channel
