This one apparently is better and faster so we’re gonna do a comprehensive review of the Rollo printer so first of all let’s unbox it alright let’s open this up it is a brown box it says Rolo on the top of it and then on the back are the specifications the model and all that good stuff it’s sealed so let’s open it up slice let’s see what comes in the box alright so when you open it up there’s a tab underneath the tab looks like some paper and some books that come with it and this looks like the printer unit itself right here and then there’s a white box I’m assuming that yep power cables supply cables and looks like a power input cable the unit itself strapped in plastic on the bottom it says Rolo with the model and yeah looks like a really nice little unit it’s much smaller than I thought it would be it’s got a sample looks like a 4×6 sample page already in it pretty clean pretty simple says Rolo on the top and there’s a button on the top there’s a fan on the bottom and yet a pretty simple power button on the back pretty simple looking unit congratulations on your purchase of the Rolo printer it’ll make your shipping and printing life a lot easier all right let’s get this plugged in and set up I’m gonna try to print the first label here this will be the first time that I’ve even used this printer at all so let’s see if this works the first thing they said to do is take these labels and you like put it in the printer close the lid down or set the guidelines here and then you close the lid down and then apparently you just hold this button on top until it beeps there it goes and now the printer is reading the size of the label so it knows exactly where to print so I guess that’s all you have to do and yeah looks like it’s ready I’m using a Macintosh computer guys and in my settings I have to go when I’m trying to print this label I have to go to print settings and change it to the thermal printer and then I have to go to choose a driver select software and select the rollo printer software before it’ll let me print so I just did that I added it so now I’m gonna try to test print this label let’s see what happens and fail okay I figured it out it looks like I forgot to change the paper size on my printer setting so I should change that to 4×6 and it should work now let’s find out print and yes success if you want to change your print settings on eBay this is how you do it you click on printer and label receipt receipt settings and then you scroll down to 4×6 that’s how you want it to set for this rollo printer so what are my final thoughts on the role of thermal printer well let’s talk about a few pros and a couple cons to the unit the first Pro it is very very fast much much faster than a traditional inkjet printer the thing prints labels out super quick it’s not a very cheap initial investment but once you get going you will save a lot of money on ink because there’s no ink required and the labels can be bought in bulk as well the setup of the printer is very very quick and easy they have video guides to walk you through everything but even without the guides it’s a very easy printer to plug into your computer and print within five minutes of setting it up and there’s zero software required you can just download the drivers straight to your computer and you’re good to go it works with all the major e-commerce website so for us eBay and Amazon are really what we want this printer to work for and it definitely works with those major e-commerce websites it can also print on different label sizes so there’s a guide in the printer where you can change the size of the actual label up to I believe 4.1 inches so you can print the four by six shipping labels you can print your Amazon FBA address labels you can print many different size labels as long as there are thermal labels using the Rolo printer and I love that it’s a small unit so it has a very small footprint compared to a big you know printer scanner fax or machine so it’s got a very small footprint you can easily use it when you’re traveling it doesn’t take up much space in your office which is a definite Pro and just a couple cons to buying the Rolo printer again the initial investment can be a little bit pricey for some people so for us we bought ours  for it sometimes it does go on sale to fluctuate a little bit I’ve seen it as low so you can look on Amazon and try to get a deal if you want to you can also buy a used unit but we bought ours brand new and if you do want to buy one a check one out there is a link to the Amazon page in the description of this video so for us for the units and then for four thousand labels we total we bought four thousand generic labels on for those labels so again the labels are very inexpensive if you buy them in bulk you know he works out to about one one one point three cents per label so very affordable to buy labels for this printer and they even tell you that you can use labels you don’t have to use Rollo branded labels they welcome you going off and buying generic labels which is great now there’s two major issues that I have with this printer the first one is you cannot print 4×6 labels on ebay using FedEx so as far as I know and s there’s a hack that I don’t know about only USPS labels can be printed 4×6 on ebay if you’re printing a FedEx label it reverts back to the regular sized labels and you cannot print a 4×6 label so that is a big issue for us because we do use FedEx a lot for some of the bigger items that we ship if there is a hack to that let us know in the comments I’m not entirely sure but as far as I could see there was no way to change the setting when trying to print a FedEx label and then by far the biggest con in my opinion is that it’s not Wireless so you cannot connect this printer to your wireless network and print wirelessly which I mean guys it’s almost 2019 why does this printer not have wireless capabilities even though super cheap inkjet printers you can buy from Walmart most of those have wireless networking capabilities so you would think they would build that into this  printer but it’s just not there so whenever you want to print a label you have to go up to the printer and plug it into the USB port to start printing which that’s a pretty big flaw in my opinion if they could change that and up to price  I would have definitely rather purchased a roller printer with wireless capabilities over one where you have to plug it into your computer every time that being said we will be keeping the printer I really like the speed of it there’s definitely more pros than cons to this printer overall out of it score of 10 I would give this printer a 9 if it had wireless capabilities it would be a 10 but because it doesn’t we’re gonna drop it one to a nine out of ten and I would say a thermal printer like this is very good for medium to big ecommerce stores if you’re a very small store if you’re only shipping four or five things a day I would recommend you stick with your regular printer and wait until you’re bringing in more sales and then upgrade to this printer it’s not really worth the expense to go and spend a  for a thermal printer when you when you’re only shipping a few things a day but if you’re shipping 20 30 40 today huge timesaver much easier to use much cheaper on the actual supplies that you’re going to use with the ink and labels and I do think that for the money it is a very good printer so overall 9 out of 10 score I think it’s a great printer and if you want one link in the description I hope you guys enjoy this review of the printer I hope it helps some of you guys out if you want us to do more reviews like this let us know in the comments please give this video a big thumbs up and we will see you on the next one thanks guys I’m Ryan grits peace how will these do in the rain let’s find out oh wow oh my gosh kidding nice doesn’t they get rained on they don’t mess up they’re just there’s another positive to thermal printer versus the regular it’s all messed up
